Today we met up with our team and was looking for location spots to film our dance scenes. Below are some places we have in mind:
*pics of locations*
We liked the idea of the sun shining in the background as it would look effective. The only problem we came across was that because its still cold and still in the winter period, it will be hard to predict when the sun will be out.
We liked the viewing on top of the platform but didn't get time to take a proper picture on top of it. It was a really nice view and a few shots would work well up there. The only problem we came across was other people wanting to come up and look at the view.
We also like the idea of the cage- this would give a great effect of breaking free and links to the song nicely.
Inside of the cage is a swing and we was just thinking to go crazy in the cage and run about.
Before we went out, we was also brain storming some ideas about costume and make-up designs.
I came up with a body art effect on half of the face and make it match the mood and setting of the song. Because we are filming the introduction of the song, we had to think of what we want to tell and show the viewers. The intro is quite long and the only lyrics in our section we have is '' I dare you to fight, for their evil right''.
The song has a feeling to it, that a fight is going to kick off or a change/warning is happening.
It's about freedom and to do as you please.
We was trying to think of symbols that could be drawn on the face for body art that would relate to the song by didn't come up with anything but using a lot of glitter on the face and hair. We wanted to use a load of glitter because it can be symbolized as something good is going to take place and/or the person in the music video is going through a change and he's true self is starting to come out and sparkle. Because our budget is low, we was planning to just be all blackout in clothing and I also feel that it looks more professional. For our hair, we are going to keep it simple and have it in an messy bun so we all pretty much look similar.
I came up with an idea to start the introduction by having us all together (getting filmed) and spray painting a wall saying ''Stand Up'' and the hear police Syrians and start running away. I chose the word ''Stand Up'' because it is lyrics from the song and also, we want to get the message across.
The next process now is to chose a space where we want to do our dance to.
Grace (who is in my group) came up with an idea to have an acting scene at the start with some words in and so she is going to make a short script that will fit in perhaps with the graffiti idea.
The dancers of the group (Me, Tashan, Ronnie and Cahliyah) have came up with a few moves and ideas for the video and what kind of shots they would like. An Ariel shot would be a nice idea as you can see how the all emphasis there movements and communicate with each other.
Below, is a video of us coming up with some ideas:
